Plebs, Season 2 Episode 7 Review: “The Statue”

(Beware, spoilers below!)

This week’s episode covers some potentially PG-13 topics, so stop reading now if you don’t want to be offended.

Now that’s out of the way, let’s get to the key points: sex, lawyers and penises. The boys run into an old friend, Fabianus, who goes by the name of ‘Fab’ now. He’s managed to make it as a big shot lawyer, and invites the boys round to his house party. Whilst there, Stylax manages to run into an old flame Cordelia, who he once almost lost his virginity to. ‘Almost’ is the key word here, and he never managed to … get it up, grows increasingly desperate when he can’t seem to perform once again. Meanwhile, Grumio gets hilariously distracted by a statue with a large penis, and subsequently snaps it off.

Fab seems nice enough to the boys, but Marcus is suspicious since he used to bully ‘Flabby-anus’ at school. He’s right to have his suspicions confirmed in a disastrous case involving Cynthia and some accidentally burned immigration papers. I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time (and I’m a comedy junkie).

All the storylines intertwine together well, and really leaves on a cliff hanger – will Cynthia really leave? How will Marcus save her? What’ll happen now the landlord is arrested? With the last episode of the season next week, the year’s run of Plebs has been all too short. I wait with anticipation for next week’s hijinks!
