As long as I’ve known what Maoam was, I’ve known and been a fan of the Maoam Stripes. They’re flat chews that are a creamy colour and come in several fruity flavours.
In terms of texture they’re like a very chewy nougat and that texture in itself will only appeal to certain people. The fruit flavours are, however, intoxicating. They come in orange, apple, raspberry, cherry and strawberry, though I’ve tried a cola one before.
The wrappers aren’t the easiest to open without a being a little fiddly (the same goes for all the Maoam sweets), but this isn’t really a problem, only a minor grievance at most. Given that Maoam is manufactured and sold by the same people that do Haribo, they come in similar sized bags which have several dozen of the stripes inside.
The stripes themselves are around the length of a thumb and no more than the width of a few fingers. This might seem small but the intensity of the flavour and the chewiness of the sweet actually means that this is pretty much all you need – it’s the right portion size.
I’m a big fan of the Maoam Stripes when it comes to the chewy sweet market and I’m yet to find a similar sweet that is not only similar, but that I’d prefer over it. If you haven’t given them a shot yet, try them out! You won’t regret it 🙂
