“Mix it up with our ever-coveted EVE LOM Kiss Mix. Beautifully chic and filled with a luxurious blend of active extracts, this moisturising, protective and cooling lip treatment has it all. Use under lipstick as a moisturising base, on its own for a softening pearlised sheen, or over lip-colour for a slick of protective shine. Kiss kiss.”
That’s the description for one of the more expensive pots of non-tint balm you might ever buy. At £16 a pot it’s no impulse purchase but despite the price I think the Eve Lom Kiss Mix is one of the best balms out there. The product is as minty as the description suggests – you can’t escape the coolness of the mix so if mint isn’t for you then I don’t suggest you go for it. The mixture itself is a little sticky, but this stickiness coats your lips enough to feel truly protected and for it to last.
Provided you aren’t roughing up your lips with an all day eating contest the balm can last at least four to six hours, and it does plump up your lips to a certain extent. Of all the balms I’ve ever tried, I find the Kiss Mix to be the most effective, even though I hate the idea of using it all up mainly because of the price. I was lucky enough to get the product in a beauty box, but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to use it up quick!
I think wether or not the item is for you is truly down the price. If you’re looking for a drugstore budget lip balm, then the Vaseline and Nivea pots will still do well to take care of your lips. But if you’re looking for a more upmarket specialist cosmetic balm, and are willing to pay the price for such, then the Kiss Mix is perfect. I’d also suggest the Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm from Kora Organics (which is a little more expensive), a brand which I’m sure I’ll rave about one Sunday soon. I love the Kiss Mix – and I feel like I’m treating my lips to a luxury product every time I use it. It’s a great item, but whether or not it’s worth it is really down to your preferences.
